What is the "WhatsApp Privacy" Debate?

Image
WhatsApp is an inevitable and integral part of our lives nowadays. We just cannot think of a day when we don't check messages or put up a status. What will happen if the platform just stops its operations in the country? Unimaginable... That's, not probably, going to happen. However, this year the messaging giant unknowingly opened Pandora's box (especially for India) when it updated its privacy policy, wherein, it openly stated that it will share yours, mine, and everybody else's data with Facebook and its companies like FB Messenger, Instagram, etc. The earlier update, in 2020, that the platform brought out had an option for you to opt out.   But now there's only an "agree" button to it, so you can't disagree. Hey lovely people, welcome to my diary.  Let me introduce myself. I am an ambitious but lazy woman. That's it.  Do you want more? Okay, my name is Sruti Satish (I just now realized that you can get that info from the title!). I am a full time SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) who enjoys her time taking care of the 3 year old toddler and running other routine chores. When not doing any of these, I like to pick up a book or do a little bit of journaling or learning a new skill.  I am an introvert and my personality type is ISTJ according to the Myers Briggs Assessment test. Just letting you know so that you don't bother to call me up and ask "Hey, what's up?" I am a huge fan of books , like to travel to new places and enjoy binge watching TV shows . I d...
